Not your average vacation destination.

Sunday night wrapped up another great week here at eXtreme Hotel in Cabarete.  It was also the final day of the 2nd annual Kiteboarding 4 Kids fundraising competition.  Following another great afternoon kiteboarding session on kite beach and Bozo beach, the awards ceremony and closing dinner was held at Bambu restaurant in Cabarete bay.  There were tons of prizes given away, including Slingshot Fuel kites, Dakine harnessess and a whole slew of others.  Cosmic Kite Lounge’s own Joel Mendoza came back with both a first and third prize.  The fundraiser was a great success with over $20,000 US raised for local kids charities.

It was an enjoyable week for those here on kitesurfing vacations, or here just to relaxand get away from it all.  Everyone is so friendly and helpful, you always make new friends during your stay with us.  This week saw tons of sun, afternoon/evening kiteboarding sessions and lots of beach volleyball.  Plenty of people on vacation were also taking advantage of the healthy lifestyle by jogging along or swimming in the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  There is also the MiGym on site at the hotel with tons of great classes including yoga and spinning.  Monday through Friday also sees evening Ju Jitsu classes in the mixed martial arts school.  Surfing most mornings at Ecuentro Beach is a great way to start the day, and with the whales on migration it is not unusual this time of year to see them swim past, playing and breaching just a short distance from your board.

Also this week, many of the eXteme Hotel  guests toook a break from their kiteboarding holiday and went on an ecotour to the Cabarete Caves where cool, refreshing freshwater filled caves invite you in for a swim.  Every week there is something going on.  This is not your average kitesurfing vacation destination.
