Cabarete Kiteboarding Vacation Eco tours

This week before heading out on the waters of Kitebeach, Cabarete to kiteboard, a group of guests from eXtreme Hotel took the opportunity to seek other adventures while on their kitesurfing vacation.  After renting a car in Cabarete and packing a cooler with a picnic lunch and some beer, the guests headed out on an exciting eco-tour to the Blue Lagoon.  The Blue Lagoon is an unfrequented location of untouched beauty, nestled under the canopy of the forest in the foothills a little outside of the town of Cabarete, here in the Dominican Republic.

Cool, refreshing spring water awaits your swimming pleasure.  For the thrill seeking, you can climb up the cliff, grab hold of the rope swing and launch yourself over 50 feet into the air before splashing down in the bottomless depths of the lagoon.  If you find the swing a little too intimidating, you can simply climb up the wall as high as you like and jump in the water from there.

If you remember to bring a headlamp or flashlight, there are also limestone caves for you to explore, with some amazing stalactite and stalagmite formations inside.  This location allows you the opportunity to explore some of the unique geology surrounding Cabarete.

After enjoying what the Blue Lagoon had to offer, the eXtreme Hotel guests returned to Kitebeach in time to catch an afternoon kitesurfing session out on the water.
