Thanks to everyone who’s emailed us asking if everything is ok here at eXterme Cabarete. The earthquake that rocked Haiti’s capital was only a mild shake here. Enough to give us a scare, but it puts things in perspective for what happened to the poor Hatians.
The devastation in Haiti is enourmous. Our hearts go out to the poor Haitians, as they are not prepared for a catasprophe of this magnitute. Most of the Hatian community here in Cabarete is in shock, distressed because they are unable to contact their loved ones to see who’s allright.
We have two UN workers staying with us at the hotel, and they are both leaving for Santo Domingo to help at the UN office there. Everyone is encouraged to help out by contributing to a Haitian Aid organization.
