How to Arrive

Getting to Cabarete

We have four possible airports that you can arrive at. Read more about buying flights to the Dominican Republic Here

Arriving from Puerto Plata

Option one: Taxi
Puerto Plata Airport (POP) is a 20 minute drive from the hotel. A taxi from the airport to the Extreme Hotel costs about USD $35 Taxi. We can organize a taxi to meet you upon arrival.

Option Two: Guagua
A Guagua is a kind of collective mini-van taxi service. If you’d like to take a Guagua, it’s a very authentic experience. To catch a Guagua, you need to walk out to the main road (about 1 km from the airport entrance), head east (to the left if the airport is behind you) and wait for a van on the side of the road. Guagaus charge $1 USD or 40rd, but unfortunately they wont have change. Sometimes they’ll charge you extra for your bags, especially if they are big and will take up space where other passengers might otherwise sit. If you’re traveling light though, it’s an alright way to save money. We don’t recommend this for night flights.

Santiago Airport (STI) is about a 1.5 hour drive from the hotel.
