Another gorgeous kitesurfing day on Kite Beach, Cabarete.
The sun was shining and the wind was a steady 20 K out of the North East. Kite Beach had relatively few kiters, as town is relatively quiet for this time of the year. The PKRA was postponed until July making for a quiet June in Cabarete in general. July looks to be busy with Summer Fest, the PKRA. and other kitesurfing competitions all coming to Cabarete for a jam packed summer. Hopefully the economic slowdown does not affect people’s ability to come and visit Cabarete for a great month.
I tried the new F1 Bandit kite, which for those who are not aware is the kite we use in the Cosmic Kite Lounge. It is a premium kite. I was amazed at the stability of the kite, making for easy transitions and super predictable in the waves. It’s not very fast, which make it ideal as a school kite. It is also a very durable kite, far outdoing last year’s BEST kite, which was showing wear by this time last year. Also was on a Liquid Force board, with the new design has become lighter and more flexible. All in all a very enjoyable kitesurfing session and another great day on Kite Beach.
This evening eXtreme Cabarete welcomes a couple new guests who are here to learn how to kiteboard, both from Montreal. The smiles on their face when we tell them that wesuits are not necessary when we kiteboard, as the weather here is nice and HOT. We will take our new guests out to downtown Cabarete, perhaps the Swiss restaurant for a welcome dinner and a few drinks at LAX and see what Sunday evening in Cabarete has to offer.
From Kite Beach Cabarete, that’s all for today!
